We checked out of the Four Seasons around 8am and walked over to the Luxor. I approached the check-in counter at Luxor simply to have the hotel acknowledge that I was there, check my bags, and try to receive a text or phone call when my room was ready I had no expectation of trying to check-in at all , I was met by a rude and unwilling to help agent that offered no help I was pretty aggravated and actually got on my phone looking for other hotels, but after a few minutes I calmed down and my GF and I went to eat breakfast.
Location: The hotel is located on the southern end of the strip between the Excalibur and Mandalay Bay. Within the complex you have access to Mandalay Bay, Delano, and Excalibur, we found this very easy to navigate and convenient.
Hotel: The hotel itself is exactly what you would expect for the price. The elevator is truly a ride, I actually did feel the effects of it being sideways, pretty fun though.
Room: The room was located on the 24th floor of the pyramid, northeast corner with a view of the airport, Tropicana, and MGM.
Upon entering the room the bathroom was to the right, a short hallway, the main bedroom straight ahead, and a separate living room on the right side.
Following the theme of the hotel, the room was decorated with the Egyptian theme throughout. The bathroom was a decent size for 2 people, one sink with plenty of counter space, however there was no bathtub, only a shower.
The main bedroom had a king size bed with comfortable bedding, an Egyptian themed wardrobe and dresser with a nice TV resting on top, a chair with lamp for reading and a soaking tub HUH??
The separate sitting room, included a couch, two chairs, another tv with stand and a refrigerator that you could actually use This was very nice.
The room did incorporate the slanted walls of the pyramid. For the price of the room, it was actually better than I expected.
Pool: The pool area is large with plenty of lounge chairs and cabanas. Although we did not visit the pool this trip, if I were to stay here again I would certainly visit the pool.
Gaming: The casino is large with many of the latest slot machines in all denominations. The sports book was a little smaller than others located on the strip, but seemed like a good place to watch a game or place a bet.
Table games were plentiful with various minimums, I was surprised to see such low minimums on the table games during the day a plus.
Cocktail service was frequent and very friendly. We only visited Flight for a pre-dinner cocktail, the service was quick, friendly and the drink was fantastic.
We did not visit the nightclub. Overall the Luxor was a nice surprise over what I was expecting. I would definitely consider staying here in the future if I were searching for this type of property.
Hope this review helps someone out there. Dear newzealand, At the Luxor we aspire to provide the best possible resort experience for our guests.
We are thrilled to hear that the staff was able to enhance the quality of your stay. Thank you for your endorsement. Please, hurry back.
Sincerely, Christie G. The staff were professional and kind, the rooms clean and spacious, i love the smell of the Luxor, we upgraded to the suites which was perfect for my family, the location of the hotel is perfect, We always try to stay at the Luxor when we come to las Vegas, i always try to look for special deals, One time i had a problem with my room because the air conditioning was not working and they moved me and my family into a suite and it was wonderful and spacious, Now because we stayed in the suite i try to look for deals on the suites.
Thank you Luxor for always making our stay there perfect. Nice clean room. Close to everything. Luxor also has a club in the hotel.
There buffet is good too. Along with a food court. Dear bebe2know, Thank you for sharing your experience online. It is great to hear all about your amazing time spent at the Luxor.
We hope the next time you are in town; you choose to stay at the Pyramid once again! Love the tower rooms so nice my second time there and I love the scenery and location.
It's like a maze or like being inside a pyramid when going to your room so it's a good walk but nicely decorated and a lil exercise isn't bad and the jabbawakees are super awesome that show is cool.
Your kind words are appreciated, and we hope to see you again in the near future. Nice place with many things to do.
Service is good check in could use some help. The sheer volume is too much for them to handle. If you are in the main building then there are these things called inclinadors.
YOU must go to your corner or you will be lost for ever. Marker needed. Nice place with many places to roam with out a car so you are good.
You are very close to the busiest intersection of the world. You will figure it out. For sure. Everything is inside so you can roam to many other properties also many ways each way you go.
THIS is the big time so put your main frame pants on and get off your as and hit it. Enjoy this is the heart of the world of fun.
SO go and have some Dear Joe C, We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your recent stay at the Luxor.
Thank you for sharing your observations online, your feedback is appreciated. The next time you are in town, we hope you choose to stay at the Pyramid once again.
The grand Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas is big Then again everything in Vegas is big these days. The outside is imposing and the interior is OK.
It's the guest rooms that need a lot of help. We entered our double queen to a musty smell and a swampy, humid feel. The room was dark, dank and just plain old.
The bathroom also needed a lot of updating. The B elevators to get up to the rooms were pretty scary. They all shake from side to side and make a lot of noise, kind of like a bad ride at a carnival.
Each night when approaching the elevators in the lobby the place smelled of marijuana, and it was strong. The mornings after, you could tell someone sprayed some bad perfume to cover up the marijuana smell.
Stay away from the pushy men and women who try to sell you discount show tickets. They are relentless. The rest of the staff were kind, considerate and very helpful.
The rooms need an overhaul. Dear TripsterSouthwest, We regret that your recent stay at the Luxor fell below your expectation. Thank you for taking the time to share you experience online.

It is a confusing layout, but we found our way around after one day. We only ate at the Cafe and found the food to be typical cafe food, not great, not bad.
Housekeeping and guest services were great. The north stop for the Duece bus is right across the street and the south stop is right in front of the hotel.
I was hesitant about staying so far south, but found it was no big deal after all. Given the price difference between the Luxor and other hotels that are mid strip, we would definitely stay here again.
The Luxor is an overpriced, depressing place to stay on the Strip. The Spa Suite we had was poorly lit and sorely in need of renovation.
The bedspreads were left wrinkled by an obviously indifferent housekeeping crew, beds were old and uncomfortable with cheap sheets and pillows.
Worst of all, the smell of smoke from the casino below permeates into even the non-smoking rooms through the vents and hallways. This hotel also lacked good signage, and it was hard to find ways to get around the awkwardly laid out facility.
Customer service was also lacking, and the price paid was a rip-off during a busy convention week.
Need I go on?? We have just returned from a stay at the luxor hotel in las Vegas that we thoroughly enjoyed. We stayed in the pyramid section of the hotel which is the older part, the rooms are looking a little worn but otherwise were fine, clean and tidy.
There is no safes in the rooms or hair dryers, but reception will deliver a hairdryer free of charge to your room, and safe deposits available in reception.
If your looking for something more upmarket spend a little more and stay maybe at the Wynn, belagio, Venetian or ceasers, but plenty or reviews on those hotels already.
We took the advice of TA and drove from Vegas to hoover dam, lake mead and valley of fire this was breathtaking and would defiantly recommend this trip, as you drive in a sort of circle.
We went to Las Vegas for 2 weeks, hoping to have the trip of a lifetime! We chose the Luxor, based on wanting to be in a "nice" hotel on the strip, our budget, and wanting the Vegas experience!
We had read some great reviews on the Luxor, and some not so great! So we were keeping our fingers crossed.
We loved it. We arrived on a Monday at about 3pm The layout was no where near as confusing as we had been told to expect.
After a few hours, it was easy to get around. Beware however of the Timeshare sales people! We had no idea, so within an hour, we'd been snapped up as easy victims!
Its not the newest hotel in Vegas, but we found it to be well kept, and well looked after; it was clean, and as non smokers, we were thrilled to go to bed at night NOT smelling of smoke after spending hours in the bars and casino.
The staff were always friendly and very helpful. We chose to stay in the Pymarid after all, this is the Luxor! Our room was clean, and well kept.
We were impressed with the whole Luxor experience. The sound proofing and blackout curtains were excellent Location wise, its great to be on the strip, and the intersection of the Strip and Tropicana is awesome.
We're going back to Vegas in 18 months as we loved it so much. We'd happily stay at the Luxor again, however we're staying further up the strip, so that we can have a different experience.
Overall, the Luxor was everything we hoped for I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Luxor. The room was spacious and clean as well as elaborately decorated with an Egyptian flare.
The bathroom was large and spotless not to mention I loved the granite tile from top to bottom. The pool facility was comfortable, relaxing and well maintained.
My favourite was the floor above the casino. There were a bunch of bars restaurants, stores and a life sized replica of King Tuts tomb. I'm a fanatic of anything Egyptian and I very much enjoyed my stay at the Luxor.
After reading various reviews about hotel was quite reluctant to stay. From the moment we arrived everything was quick.
The queue for registration was not too long and moved very quickly. Considering the size of the hotel our luggage was brought up immediately.
We had adjoining rooms in the Pyramid and they were spotless. The hotel is at one end of the strip but that made it a little quieter and not quite so hectic.
Probably won't go back to Las Vegas again but if we did would not hesitate to stay at the Luxor. Log in to get trip updates and message other travelers.
